DappRadar DAO Newsletter - January 2025

Best wishes for the new year everybody. As the market is gaining renewed momentum, we look back at the last month of 2024. December tends to be a slow month in many industries, but in the blockchain space lots of things happened. In this monthly newsletter we look back at the biggest developments in the DappRadar ecosystem, covering both the DappRadar platform, its services and of course the community-governed DappRadar DAO.

Let’s go!

Media Mentions

The first two weeks of December were very strong, while the last two weeks were very slow for media mentions. This is a common thing across many industries, mainly because - believe it or not - also journalists celebrate the holidays. Moreover, companies publish less press releases during this time, resulting in lower mentions.

Nonetheless, we ended December with 410 media mentions and a reach of over 112 million people. This is the lowest reach from the past 4 months, since we started using Mention.com for tracking our media mentions. We consider this difference caused by seasonality, and during Q1 2025 we expect things to catch up once again.

Reports

In December we published considerably less reports compared with the months before, when we had reports on individual chains as well.

These reports contribute to our media mentions, and often generate headlines. These reports get read by a couple of thousand people, and reach millions through the media and influencers on X sharing data.

Product development

We are keeping a close eye on development in Web3, and now we’re convinced that topics like Real World Assets (RWAs), DePIN and of course Artificial Intelligence, or simply AI, have a place in our future. That’s why we’ve begun to offer a place for projects building in these product categories. If you now go to the Rankings, you will be able to find the AI Rankings on DappRadar.

Product development isn’t only about offering new features all the time, but we also need to improve and expand existing products. We do this by adding more categories, and by integrating more blockchain ecosystems. For the latter, please continue reading below.

Integrations

During December, we already announced the upcoming integration of Stellar. At the time of writing, the integration still isn’t live yet, but rest assured… it’s coming. Thankfully we also had two integrations going live.

Injective

You can now get all kinds of dapp data, NFT trading details and DeFi metrics for projects building on Injective. This network allows dapps to tap into resources across Ethereum, Cosmos and Solana. That’s true interoperability. You can check the Injective chain page on DappRadar.

BTTC

The integration of BitTorrent Chain, better known as BTTC, also brought lots of attention to DappRadar. Teams building on the BitTorrent Chain can now list their projects easily. Those who want to explore dapps, can find them through the Rankings.

Marketing campaign #1 - Advent Calendar

During the month of December we organized an Advent Calendar campaign where users could win prizes, and level up their accounts. The Advent Calendar allowed the community to complete a quest every 24 hours, over a period of 12 days. The campaign attracted 5,624 participants. One of the highlights was the DappRadar-themed NFT inside the world of Pixels, which was claimed by 12,000 gamers.

Marketing campaign #2 - XAI Games Tiny Sentry Key sale

In December we also organized a unique campaign. Users who purchased a Tiny Sentry Key from XAI Games, and used the DAPPRADAR discount code for their purchase, are eligible to get an extra kick back in RADAR tokens. So, not only do you get a discount with the code, but DappRadar gives you an additional bit of money. The strong offering resulted in 700 people completing the quest, and 5 winners taking home 1,600 RADAR per winner.

DappRadar DAO and RADAR

Was December exciting for the DAO? Well, as a RADAR holder you should be aware of the following updates:

  • RADAR token holders on Ethereum: 12,535
  • RADAR token holders on BNB Chain: 1,429
  • RADAR token holders on Polygon: 1,384

With the number of unique token holders exceeding 12,000 wallets, and not including any holdings on centralized exchanges, you can imagine we’re happy with the distribution. To underline our commitment to RADAR, we’ve done the second buyback.

The DAO purchased 5.13 million RADAR, worth 8.498 ETH, from the open market through time-weighted price order over a 24 hour period. The DAO bought RADAR with an average price of $0.0063.

For those who’ve been with us for a longer time, you may already know that the RADAR token now exists for 3 years. For the memorable moment, we’ve created a quest. Through this quest anybody had the ability to win a PRO NFT, which gives users temporary access to PRO features on DappRadar.

Why is this relevant for RADAR? PRO features can only be unlocked by staking 30,000 (or more) RADAR tokens.

PRO membership update

On January 1st, we had a total of 991 PRO members in the DappRadar community. These users have staked a total of 108,149,903 RADAR tokens. That’s an average of more than 100k RADAR per user, meaning that PRO members benefit nicely from the 15% APY that comes with the membership.

Closing words

December may have been the end of 2024, but we’re just getting started. In 2025 we’ve got some wild plans to expand our influence, add new features, and personalize the experience. DappRadar is the World’s Dapp Store, but it’s also a lot more than that. We’ve got the PRO membership which comes with benefits on the platform, but these members also benefit from DappLaunch, the growth hub for early-stage Web3 projects.
